I think the current most reasonable speculation is that all engines will have a manual option (like they do currently on the 3) but AWD will be auto-only.

We know that motor won’t be very fast, it won’t be a manual, and it’ll probably be some haldex-esque ‘fwd only 90% of the time’ AWD facsimile .

The interior looks great, sure, and the sedan looks good, but a Mazdaspeed3 this is not. Basically what I’m saying is where’s the damn speed3 Mazda?!

I had been holding out hope for manual AWD 2.5 hatch, but I’m so put off with how ugly it is that I find it hard to get excited that it’s a step closer .
